Management Accountant

Joining the Finance team In our Wimbledon office, the Management Accountant will be supporting the Financial Controller for the EMEA pillar of the business with the opportunity to take ownership of a variety of responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ownership of the month end close - journal posting, accruals, prepayments, depreciation
  • Review of bookkeeping including sales ledger, purchase ledger, and bank reconciliation
  • Payroll administration, ensuring changes to monthly payroll are communicated to our external payroll provider
  • Complete/Review UK quarterly VAT & adhoc statistical returns
  • Balance sheet reconciliations - accrued and deferred income, fixed assets, accruals, prepayments, payroll, intercompany
  • Monthly Project P&L analysis, reporting to project managers including variance to budget/forecast
  • Monthly overhead analysis, reporting to budget holders including variance to budget/forecast
  • Work closely with accounts administrator and accounts assistant to improve processes and efficiency and reduce risk
  • Netsuite integration activities
  • Capex spend analysis
  • Review and authorisation of payments
  • Review weekly cash reporting and oversight of monthly cash report generation
  • Adhoc Excel modelling and spreadsheet design
  • Audit preparation

Required Skills

  • IT literate with excellent Excel skills - confidently uses SUMIFS, SUMIF, COUNTIF, lookups, pivot tables, and can manipulate large quantities of data and summarise
  • Team player - confident in mentoring junior staff members
  • Effective communicator - the role will require interaction with a number of project managers and key stakeholders in addition to finance reporting lines
  • Previous experience in multi-currency environment
  • Knowledge of Sage 50 (current accounting package) and Netsuite (current/future ERP) desirable but not essential
  • Accountancy qualification (CIMA/ACCA/ACA)
  • Previous experience within technology/media sector desirable but not essential
  • Experience of year end audit and liaison with auditors
  • Demonstrates the highest level of integrity and ethics
  • Thrives in a global, multi-cultural corporate environment
